The opening ceremony was attended by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
The DANAFF II aims to the most outstanding cinematographic works which are rich in humanity and have new discoveries and unique artistic expression; encourages talent and widely introduce new cinematographic works with high value in contents and arts from Vietnam, Asia-Pacific region and the world.
Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association of Film Promotion and Development (VAFPD) and co-chair of the organising committee, said the DANAFF II selected curated fresh and high-quality films and attractive programmes from Vietnam, the Asia-Pacific, and the world. In addition, the event has attracted renowned stars and filmmakers from Vietnam and around the world to serve on the jury or to present their films, Dr. Lan affirmed.

Especially, the professional and academic quality of DANAFF II is created by four international seminars and forums including “French cinema and its relationship with Vietnamese cinema”; “Director Dang Nhat Minh's creation”; “Cooperation in film production - international experience and development solutions”; and “Experiences in connecting coastal film festivals”. A workshop for those passionate about acting will continue to bring fresh and youthful vitality to DANAFF II.
Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, said the festival is expected to become a prominent event contributing to the development of the City's cultural industries as well as promoting the image, culture, and tourism of the central economic hub to international friends.

The film festival takes place from July 2 to 6, with 63 films from many Asian and Vietnamese cinemas, bringing the public an attractive and interesting film feast with many new things to discover.
