The press conference was co-chaired by Le Van Su and Ngo Vu Thang, Vice Chairmen of the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee, along with Nguyen Nam Phong, Deputy Head of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education. The events form part of the “Ca Mau – Destination 2025” programme, which aims to promote the province’s brand, culinary culture, OCOP products, and investment opportunities.

According to information released at the event, the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival, themed “Ca Mau Crab: The Taste of Forest and Sea”, will officially take place from November 16 to 22, 2025. The main activities will be concentrated over three days, from November 16 to 18. The opening ceremony will be held at Phan Ngoc Hien Square (An Xuyen Ward) at 8 pm on November 16 and broadcast live on Ca Mau Radio, Television, and Newspaper channels.

The festival’s highlights include a large-scale exhibition, trade, and culinary space. Prominent among these are the Crab Industry, OCOP Products, and Start-up Pavilion with 312 booths, and a General Trade Fair featuring 224 booths.

Particularly notable will be the Ca Mau Crab Culinary Space with 20 booths showcasing live demonstrations and nightly cooking performances (from November 17 to 21), where chefs will prepare a variety of signature crab dishes.

One of the most anticipated activities is the Ca Mau Crab Record Challenge, which will select the largest crab and display unique crab-themed models and souvenirs. The closing ceremony and award presentation are scheduled to take place at the Provincial Convention Centre at 7 pm on November 18.

To expand the festival’s reach, the province will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to organise the “Hello Ca Mau” event from November 18 to 22 in Ho Chi Minh City. This will include an Investment Promotion Conference at the Rex Hotel and the Ca Mau Crab Culinary Festival (featuring 100 booths) at the Youth Cultural House.

Alongside the Crab Festival, the Ca Mau Marathon 2025 – Petrovietnam Cup will officially take place on November 15 and 16. Sponsored by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), this provincial-level race is expected to attract around 6,000 professional and amateur runners from across Viet Nam and abroad.

The November event series in Ca Mau will also feature several specialised and cultural side activities. Notably, the International Workshop on Innovation for Sustainable Development of the Ca Mau Crab Industry – Viet Nam will be held on the morning of November 18, with participation from experts from Viet Nam, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Additionally, the CamaUP’25 Start-up Festival, themed “Green Aquaculture – The Path to Sustainable Growth”, will take place from November 16 to 17.

Cultural activities include the Don Ca Tai Tu (Southern Folk Music) Festival (November 13–15), a street parade (November 16), and traditional folk games held nightly from November 17 to 21. The province will also organise famtrips and experiential tours to crab farming areas and craft villages.

With careful preparation, Ca Mau hopes this year’s events will provide a strong boost to the province’s tourism and economic development, enhance the competitiveness of the Ca Mau Crab brand, attract new investors, and contribute to completing the value chain for the local crab industry.
