The event was jointly organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People’s Committee of Lam Dong province.
The conference aims to understand the current situation as well as the demand for information technology (IT) applications in agriculture in Vietnam andopportunities for technology businesses to participate in developing smart agriculture.
Delegates also discussed development orientation of technology enterprises in agriculture and solutions topromote high-tech agricultural ecosystems as well as solutions for Vietnamese agricultural digital transformation.
According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam, Vietnamese IT enterpriseshave developed many new applications and solutions in the area of agriculture to facilitate the environmentmanagement and the operations and supervision of the farming process towards sustainable development.
He noted that technology solutions applied to Vietnamese agriculture must be suitable to the real situation of Vietnamese agriculture, demands of farmers and the farming conditions of each region and others.
Tam suggested that State agencies and the Government should prioritise investment, purchasing and application of Vietnamese technology solutions, products and services to nurture domestic firms and create a market for them.
