In his opening remarks, Deputy Director General Nguyen Thanh Hung stressed that developing partnerships between Customs, businesses, and relevant stakeholders has always been identified by the customs sector as a key and regular task in order to accompany and support enterprises, enhance the effectiveness of state management, and improve the investment and business environment.

According to the Department of Viet Nam Customs leadership, organising dialogue conferences between customs authorities and businesses through business associations plays an important role in helping customs authorities promptly grasp difficulties and obstacles arising during the implementation of customs procedures for import and export goods. This provides the basis for customs authorities to review, amend, and improve mechanisms, policies, and administrative procedures in line with the practical operations of enterprises.

The conference also served as a forum for the business community to update themselves on new regulations, directly exchange views with customs authorities on shortcomings arising during the implementation of customs laws, and contribute opinions on policymaking, trade facilitation, and enhancing competitiveness.

At the conference, representatives of enterprises under the Viet Nam Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises discussed a range of issues related to customs procedures, policies on import-export goods management, tax policies, specialised inspections, and the implementation of new legal regulations in the customs sector.

According to a summary compiled before the conference, businesses submitted 21 groups of issues to the Department of Viet Nam Customs requesting guidance and clarification. Representatives of specialised units under the Department of Viet Nam Customs directly discussed and clarified each matter of concern raised by enterprises.

Speaking at the conference, leaders of the Department of Viet Nam Customs affirmed that they would continue strengthening dialogue and partnership with the business community, placing people and enterprises at the centre of public service delivery, while accelerating administrative procedure reform, customs modernisation, and improving coordination efficiency between state management agencies and the business community in the process of international economic integration.
