The 14th National Party Congress was held with great success, continuing to affirm the Party’s leadership role, strengthening the people’s confidence, and opening a new stage of national development with a long-term vision, clear goals and a strong aspiration for development. The important decisions of the 14th National Party Congress are a guiding compass for the entire Party, people and army in the process of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.
With that significance, the National Library of Viet Nam (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) organised the documentary exhibition “Communist Party of Viet Nam through its Congresses” as a practical activity to celebrate the success of the 14th National Party Congress, while also contributing to extensive communication on the role, historical mission and revolutionary leadership process of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the National Library of Viet Nam Nguyen Xuan Dung said that the Congresses of the Communist Party of Viet Nam are particularly important political events, playing an orientating role in the country’s development in each historical period. The guidelines, policies and decisions adopted at the Congresses demonstrate the Party’s intellect, courage and strategic vision, creating a solid foundation for the whole Party, the whole people and the whole army to unite in will and action, overcome difficulties and challenges, and achieve great achievements of historic significance.
The exhibition introduces nearly 800 typical documents, selected from the rich collection of the National Library of Viet Nam, systematically and comprehensively reflecting the process of establishment, development and Vietnamese revolutionary leadership of the Party through its Congresses. In addition to display traditional documents, the exhibition also applies modern technology and equipment to improve visual impact and vividness.
The exhibition is a practical activity contributing to communication on the leadership role and mission of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, thereby fostering confidence, inspiring pride and promoting the spirit of solidarity among cadres, Party members and the people; contributing to spreading historical values, creating social consensus, and working towards the successful implementation of the goals and tasks set out by the 14th National Party Congress.
The exhibition is displayed four main themes:
1. The Communist Party of Viet Nam – The leader and organiser of all victories of the Vietnamese revolution: Introducing writing documents on the founding of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the role of President Ho Chi Minh in establishing the Party; the Party’s leadership process throughout revolutionary stages, leading the Vietnamese nation to overcome difficulties and challenges and achieve glorious victories.
2. Party Congresses – Strategic decisions: Introducing documents reflecting the guidelines, policies and strategic decisions adopted at the Congresses; the imprints and positive contributions of delegates to the success of the Congresses and to the country’s development process.
3. Party Congresses – From resolutions to practice: Introducing documents summarising the process of concretising the resolutions of the Party Congress into the practical life of the country; lessons learned from implementation of the resolutions, contributing to supplementing and developing theoretical thinking and improving the Party’s leadership capacity.
4. Building the clean and strong Party: Introducing documents on the Party’s policies, guidelines, and determination in Party building and rectification in order to improve leadership capacity and fighting strength; renewing leadership methods and improving the quality of cadres and Party members to meet the requirements of leading the country in the new situation.
The exhibition takes place from January 26 to February 26 at the National Library of Viet Nam (No. 31 Trang Thi Street, Ha Noi).
