The contest is a key activity towards realising the goals of the regional project ‘Sustaining Our Oceans: Building Healthy Relationships with Oceans in South-East Asia through Education for Sustainable Development’, being implemented by UNESCO during 2024–2025.
With financial support from Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. (the parent company of UNIQLO), the project emphasises the importance of linking education with nature conservation, focusing especially on educating the younger generation.
The contest is open to primary and secondary students nationwide. Entrants are encouraged to submit their hand-drawn on paper of any size, using any materials, such as watercolours or crayons. Each artwork must have a title, written on the front or back of the drawing
Entrants should a photo or scanned copy of the artwork via email to vetuonglaibien@gmail.com before June 18, 2025.
Selected artworks passing the preliminary round will be posted on social media for public voting. The final results will be determined based on public votes and evaluations from a panel of experts.
The competition aims to create a forum for children to express their thoughts and feelings about the sea through their innocent and pure lense. Every brushstroke, every colourful story is a way for them to convey their love for the ocean and ignite aspirations for a greener planet and future.
