The exhibition, entitled ‘Hanoi, Days and Nights in 1972’, features vivid images and the undaunted spirit of Hanoi citizens and the army during the long-range bombings by US B-52s in 1972.
The bombing attack is also outlined in detail, from the strategic targets, the involvement of air forces, civilian losses and military damage to the signing of the Paris Accords on January 27, 1973.
The exhibits were sourced from both Vietnamese and French organisations including the Vietnam News Agency, the Vietnam Air Force Museum, the Vietnam National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, the French National Audiovisual Institute and La Défense Department of Information and Audiovisual Production, as well as contributions by individuals Jean-Marc Gravier, Alain Wasmes, Nicolas Cornet and Chu Chi Thanh.
The exhibition, organised by the French School of Far East Studies and the French embassy in Vietnam, will run through December 9 at the L’Espace Gallery of the French Cultural Centre, No. 24 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi.
