Famous American artist to perform in Vietnam

Nhan Dan Online – Michael Parks Masterson, a well-know artist of the Broadway musical theatre in the US, will perform at the Conservatory of Music in Ho Chi Minh City on April 18.

The performance, sponsored by the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, aims to create an opportunity for Vietnamese visitors to enjoy Broadway opera hits such as All That Jazz and Les Misérables and American culture.

The event will also feature the participation of Vietnamese artists and singers including Duc Tuan, Khanh Thi, Kim Khanh, Ha Okio and other artists at Hong Van Theater.

During his Vietnam trip, Michael Parks Masterson will also meet and speak with the press and other artists about Broadway and the field with musical theater.

As a famous artist, director and choreographer, Michael Parks Masterson has been invited to perform in over 30 countries around the world.

He has also acted as a bass soloist on many Broadway and off-Broadway stages.

Michael has taught dance, music, and theatre in youth and young adult programs such as the Angelo Conservatory of the Arts in San Angelo in Texas, Broadway Dance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, the Armory Performing Arts Centre in Montgomery, Alabama, and the Vivace Performing Arts Program in Tokyo, Japan.

Michael Parks Masterson has recently produced Broadway Revues in Ankara and Minsk as well as conducted movement and theater workshops in Kabul, Afghanistan.
