According to the organisers, the event, which will last until November 12, will feature around 200 booths of foreign enterprises from the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Italy, Denmark, Spain and China.

It will also see the participation of famous domestic brands such as Golden Farm, Minh Tien and Sen Viet coffee, Chinh Son tea, Minh Trung food and black garlic. Coffee, fruit juices and dried fruits are areas of strength for Vietnam.

The highlights of the exhibition are pavilions from 33 Korean businesses, displaying canned food and beverages, frozen seafood and frozen and preserved machines. Thailand’s pavilions showcase many products similar to Vietnamese ones, such as fresh fruits and spices, offering good opportunities for domestic enterprises to exchange manufacturing experience.

In addition to the opportunity for manufacturers to showcase their products on packaging and food safety, the event will also allow for customers to affirm their consumption choices, as clean food from start-up projects will bring to the event clean vegetables and safe agricultural products with traceability and Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le An Hai, deputy head of the Asia-Pacific Market Department at the Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed the fair aimed to boost trade between domestic and foreign businesses.

It offers a good chance for local producers to expand markets and boost exports while helping foreign ones seek distributors in Vietnam.

Hai said food and beverages were among the industries seeing the most rapid growth in terms of quality and quantity, with great potential for development in Vietnam—a country with a large population in the midst of a “golden age.”

The Vietfood & Beverage–ProPack Exhibition is a familiar name in the food, beverages and food-processing and -packaging equipment industry in Vietnam. Since its inception in 1996, the event has been held only in Ho Chi Minh City.

Following the success of a previous event last August in the southern hub city, the four-day event is being held in Hanoi to provide opportunities for foreign and domestic businesses to strengthen cooperation, promote trade and exchanges and develop their brands, contributing to the development of food, beverages and food-processing and -packaging in Vietnam.

During the four-day event, the organisers hope to welcome 15,000 visitors.
