The programme offered 4,230 bus tickets and meaningful gifts to students, young workers, and labourers studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai to return to the provinces of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, Da Nang, Hue, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh, and Nghe An.
Speaking at the event, Nguyen Minh Triet, Permanent Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Students Association, emphasised that 2025 is a very special year in terms of the country’s strong transformation, but it is also a year in which people unfortunately suffered many losses due to natural disasters and floods.
The “Bringing Tet Home” programme in 2026 continued to affirm the beautiful humanitarian tradition of the nation and the spirit of “leaving no one behind.” These tickets not only spread love and sharing but also foster connection, build trust, and provide motivation for students, young workers, and labourers in difficult circumstances to celebrate Tet joyfully, study better, work more effectively, and contribute to building the country and homeland in this era of progress, he noted.
The “Bringing Tet Home” programme, which began during the Lunar New Year of the Ox in 2021, has, over the past five years, connected families and provided a total of 20,406 tickets for people to return home for Tet. This included 3,388 round-trip air tickets, 16,743 round-trip bus tickets, and 275 round-trip train tickets, helping disadvantaged individuals celebrate the New Year with their families after a long period of hard work, studying, and living far from home.
