This is an important initiative designed to help users access useful information on language, culture, and employment opportunities connected to the Francophone community in Viet Nam.

In October 2024, in France, in the presence of General Secretary To Lam and French President Emmanuel Macron, representatives of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the French Ministry of National Education signed a cooperation agreement in the field of education.

The agreement emphasised continued collaboration in education and training in Viet Nam, particularly efforts to strengthen French-language teaching and expand the network of Vietnamese schools awarded the LabelFrancÉducation distinction.

To translate these commitments into action, the Embassy of France and the French Institute in Viet Nam developed the tiengphapplus.vn platform — a key project aimed at supporting and further promoting French-language teaching and learning in Viet Nam.

Eric Soulier, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities at the French Embassy in Viet Nam, affirmed that Viet Nam is not only an active member of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) but also one of its founding members. The regional Francophone representative office for Asia-Pacific is also based in Viet Nam, providing favourable conditions to enhance cooperation in education and higher education between the two countries.

He noted that the project’s objective is to connect all elements of the French-language ecosystem, including learners, families, schools, and businesses, with the aim of fostering a more closely linked Francophone community.

Providing further details about the project, Pauline Vidal, project officer and representative of 5S Media — the company implementing the initiative — explained that the platform features three main sections. The “News” area helps users keep up to date with developments in the Francophone community in Viet Nam. The “Study Guidance” section provides useful information on learning French and studying abroad. The final section, “Career Orientation”, focuses on job opportunities and career development pathways for learners of French.

Arnaud Panier, Education Cooperation Attaché, highlighted the need for such a project. He cited figures showing that around 40,000 Vietnamese pupils study French in the general education system, with approximately 400 French-language teachers. Many students plan to study or work in France.

At the same time, numerous French businesses operating in Viet Nam are seeking qualified staff. According to Arnaud Panier, the tiengphapplus.vn platform is designed to help users access French more easily while also serving as a unique gateway to explore French-related culture, learning, and career opportunities in Viet Nam.

The tiengphapplus.vn platform has been running in pilot mode since September 2025 and now has 400 active users. The project is expected to help cultivate a French-language ecosystem and foster a more interconnected Francophone community. In its second phase, scheduled to begin in January 2026, AI-powered features will be integrated to support users in preparing job applications and accessing study- and career-related information in a more effective manner.
