Government approves master planning of Hung Yen Province with vision to 2050

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Decision No. 489/QD-TTg dated June 10, 2024, approving the master planning of Hung Yen Province in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, according to the People’s Committee of Hung Yen Province.

Accordingly, the province will have a total area of over 930 km2 and 10 administrative units, including Hung Yen City, My Hao Town and the districts of An Thi, Khoai Chau, Kim Dong, Phu Cu, Tien Lu, Van Giang, Van Lam, and Yen My.

The province is expected to have a GRDP growth rate of about 9.0% per year during 2021-2030 and an average GRDP per capita of 278 million VND by 2030.

The agriculture and fishery sector is anticipated to account for 3.6% of the economic structure, the industry and construction sector is set for 64.1% and the service sector is estimated to occupy 25.4%.

The urbanisation rate will be about 60-65% by 2030 and about 80% by 2050.

In addition, the poverty rate is projected to drop to less than 0.5% by the end of 2025 and there will be no poor households by 2030.

Hung Yen City is also hoped to become a centrally-run city by 2050 and a worthwhile place to reside in the Red River delta region.
