The 2024–2025 school year marks a special milestone as Chu Van An High School (Tay Ho District) has officially transformed into Chu Van An High School for the Gifted. According to Headmistress Nguyen Thi Nhiep, students of the newly established specialised school have continued to demonstrate their resilience, intelligence, and determination through remarkable achievements in numerous academic and creative competitions. The school achieved 31 national awards for excellent students, 277 city-level awards (including 33 first prizes), 674 cluster-level awards, and 62 awards at the competition for specialised schools in the Coastal and Northern Delta region.
In addition to improving the quality of teaching and learning, the school has focused on comprehensive education through traditional activities and career guidance. From igniting learning inspiration and skills in 10th grade and developing capacities in 11th grade to supporting students in choosing schools and careers in 12th grade, each activity contributes to nurturing students’ souls and orienting their future. The school is also proud to be a pioneer in Party development among students. This academic year, five outstanding students were honoured to be admitted to the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
Over the years, Giang Vo Secondary School (Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi) has attained many achievements. The 2024–2025 school year is the first year following its division, resulting in a smaller scale with 51 classes, 2,401 students, and nearly 130 teachers. This is also the first year in which all four grade levels are simultaneously implementing the 2018 General Education Programme, which includes new textbooks, new assessment methods, and the application of various teaching models and innovative methodologies.
Speaking about these remarkable “firsts,” Headmistress To Thi Hai Yen shared that in the past academic year, the school’s students won 1,405 awards in district, city, national, and international-level competitions. In the city-level academic competition for 9th-grade students, the school led Ba Dinh District with 40 awards, including 18 first and second prizes. Notably, in the Natural Science subject, specifically the "Living Matter" knowledge strand, the school won three first prizes at the city level. A total of 801 students achieved the title of "Excellent Student" (accounting for 33.38%), and 1,936 students were graded as having good academic performance (accounting for 80.67%).
For many years, Nguyen Trai A Secondary School (Thuong Tin District) has consistently led in the district's education sector. According to Headmistress Pham Thi Ngoc Thuy, the 2024–2025 academic year saw the school intensify efforts for fundamental and comprehensive education reform. As a national-standard school, it has creatively and effectively implemented major campaigns and movements of the sector such as: “The school joins hands for development.
Teachers share responsibility”, while at the same time building a learning society; promoting lifelong learning; enhancing innovation, quality, unity, and discipline; and strengthening political, ideological, and moral education for students. As a result, this year the school seen one student win a gold medal in an international mathematics competition, while 10 students won city-level academic awards, and 343 students received district-level awards.
According to Director of the Ha Noi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, Ha Noi currently has the largest education scale in the country with 2,913 kindergartens and general education schools, and 29 centres for vocational and continuing education. In the 2024–2025 academic year alone, the city constructed and established 35 new schools; nearly 80% of public schools citywide now meet national standards; 23 schools have been recognised as high-quality institutions; and investment in building seven modern and advanced inter-level schools covering areas of 5 hectares or more has been prioritised.
Ha Noi’s education and training sector in the 2024–2025 academic year has developed comprehensively across all educational levels and disciplines. With 2.3 million students and over 140,000 officials and teachers, the capital has achieved outstanding results: its national high school graduation rate ranking rose by five places; 18 students won international awards; and 200 students won prizes in national competitions for excellent students. Also, during this school year, the city admitted 168 students into the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
