Hanoi to build another 8,300 social housing units in four districts

The Hanoi authorities have approved six additional social housing projects covering a total area of 13 hectares in the districts of Ba Dinh, Long Bien, Thanh Tri and Thach That.

These projects cost 6 trillion VND (240.2 million USD) and will offer more than 8,300 housing units, with a total floor area of 655,000 square metres.

Site clearance for such projects has been completed and construction is scheduled for completion between 2026-2029.

According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, ten other housing projects in Hanoi are expected to be completed next year with more than 1,000 units.

It is expected that 26 projects with nearly 9,900 units will be completed after 2025.

In addition, there are 36 projects with about 49,000 units in the stage of conducting investment procedures in the outlying districts of Gia Lam, Hoai Duc, Dong Anh, Thanh Tri, Dan Phuong and Thuong Tin.

During 2015-2023, Hanoi completed about 466 housing projects with 29.3 million square metres of floor area, including 30 social housing projects with a total floor area of 1.66 million square metres.
