At the 10th Infantry Regiment, the Ho Chi Minh City High Command organised a programme combining medical check-ups, health consultations, free medicine distribution and the presentation of Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households in the four communes of Binh Khanh, An Thoi Dong, Can Gio and Thanh An.
On this occasion, 1,000 gift packages containing essential goods were delivered to local residents, helping them enjoy a more adequate and warmer New Year.
Colonel Nguyen Dinh Chuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command, affirmed that beyond material support, the programme reflects the affection and responsibility of the city’s armed forces towards people in island and coastal areas that still face many difficulties, thereby further strengthening the close-knit bond and solidarity between the army and the people.
In Phuoc Hai Commune, the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command organised free medical examinations and distribution of medicines for 100 disadvantaged residents, while also disseminating health-care knowledge and providing guidance on basic first-aid skills.
During the event, participating units jointly prepared 250 packs of banh tet, set up a Tet calligraphy space, children’s play areas, and cultural and artistic exchanges, creating a warm spring atmosphere and fostering community cohesion.
According to Colonel Do Vinh Thang, Deputy Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command, the activities under the programme are aimed at providing comprehensive care for residents in island and coastal areas.
Through the programme, the city’s Border Guard and participating units also supported the repair of a house valued at 60 million VND, presented 200 gift packages to policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged women, and provided additional gifts and bicycles for students.
