Running through July 1, the event series features exhibitions, performances, and public campaigns aimed at fostering civic pride and showcasing the city’s development vision in the context of global integration.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Dung highlighted the city's transformation over 327 years—particularly its past three decades of reform—as it evolved into Viet Nam’s leading economic and innovation hub. The events also mark the city’s strategic reorientation, with plans to restructure its urban space and develop a future-ready metropolis.

Following the ceremony, a lively art performance themed “For a clean, green, and eco-friendly city” echoed this year’s Environmental Action Month. Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Bui Xuan Cuong stressed the urgency of addressing environmental issues such as waste, air pollution, and climate change, affirming that sustainability lies at the heart of the city’s development agenda.

Ho Chi Minh City also honoured environmental contributions, awarding individuals and organisations for their green initiatives and recognising 50 exemplary localities for environmental excellence.
