Ho Chi Minh City’s domestic tax revenue exceeds 300 trillion VND

Tax revenue collected by the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department in 2022 reached 319.5 trillion VND (13.6 billion USD), up 17.2% against the previous year and surpassing the target by 18.3%.

This is the first time that such figure has exceeded the 300 trillion VND mark.

According to the municipal tax authority, personal income tax revenue was estimated at 56.4 trillion VND (2.4 billion USD) while registration fees reached 8.360 trillion VND (356.5 million USD).

Revenue from other fees and charges reached 6.9 trillion VND (294.2 million USD) and revenue from lottery was estimated at 4.5 trillion VND (191.9 million USD).

The tax department added that some revenues posted phenomenal rises in 2022, such as crude oil and natural gas which increased by 12.9 trillion VND (550.1 million USD).

In the past year, the city also collected an additional 1.9 trillion VND (81 million USD) from the fees for using seaport infrastructure.

In 2023, the city’s tax department will step up administrative procedures to streamline tax management and facilitate taxpayers as well as promptly implement new tax policies and tax reduction policies to support the quick and stable recovery of enterprises.
