Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that Vietnam is a country with many beautiful natural landscapes, rich history and culture, which is an ideal destination for local and international filmmakers. Many beautiful scenes in Vietnam such as Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh, Trang An in Ninh Binh, cave systems in Quang Binh, and the stone plateau in Ha Giang, have attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
However, Vietnam has not yet attracted many foreign film crews and the promotion of destinations through cinematographic works remains modest.
Therefore, the conference is an opportunity for the parties to exchange and present their views and initiatives on combining tourism and cinema more effectively, helping to promote the national tourism image and tourism destinations in Vietnam, Hung noted.
He also suggested that Khanh Hoa province soon build and complete mechanisms and policies to attract investment in cinema and tourism urgently and sustainably.
Several Memorandums of understanding (MoU) were signed at the conference, including a MoU between Sun Group and Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee, on building a film studio at Dam Mon, Van Thanh commune, Van Ninh district. The Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee also signed a deal with Vietinbank to make films on Khanh Hoa.
MaiLong Film and Nha Trang Tourism Association also signed a MoU on producing a film entitled ‘Cham vao hanh phuc’ (Touching Happiness).
