This prestigious competition, with its long-standing history, is conducted under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and the Ministry of Education and Training.

Over the past 35 years, 18 exceptional women from across the country’s three regions have been crowned.

Many Miss Vietnam winners have achieved outstanding results on international stages, such as Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, crowned Miss International 2024; and Miss Do Thi Ha, who made it to the Top 13 at Miss World 2021. Other notable titleholders, such as Tran Tieu Vy, Mai Phuong Thuy, Do My Linh, Pham Thi Mai Phuong, and Nguyen Thi Huyen, have all secured top placements at Miss World over the years.

This year, the Miss Vietnam 2024 pageant returns with a journey spanning numerous culturally and historically rich locations across the country. The competition begins in January 2025 at universities in the three regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam. Contestants will then participate in a variety of creative, cultural, and charitable activities in Hanoi, Thua Thien Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City before traveling to the heroic land of Quang Tri. There, they will attend the Flag Raising Ceremony at the 17th Parallel to commemorate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

The final destination of the Miss Vietnam journey is the ancient capital of Hue, which preserves the beauty of Vietnam’s culture, history, and spirit. It is also where the first steps of the newly crowned Miss Vietnam 2024 will be marked.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper and Head of the Organising Committee, shared that, for the first time, the pageant has boldly set four criteria for the new Miss Vietnam: “Beauty – Culture – Intelligence – Dedication”. This approach aims to reinforce Miss Vietnam as a unique, unparalleled, and leading beauty pageant in the country.

He also said that the foremost responsibility of the newly crowned Miss Vietnam is to uphold and celebrate the values and beauty of Vietnamese women domestically. Additionally, the Organising Committee will collaborate with organisations holding the rights to international pageants to identify the most suitable competition for the new Miss Vietnam to participate in.
