Moc Chau National Tourist Area receives official recognition

The northern mountainous province of Son La held a ceremony in Moc Chau District on May 18 to officially announce the decision to recognise the Moc Chau National Tourist Area.

Leaders of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism announced the decision to recognise the Moc Chau National Tourist Area in Son La Province and granted the decision to the leaders of districts Moc Chau and Van Ho.

At the ceremony, an art programme themed “Moc Chau, Van Ho - Beautiful Highlands" featured the participation of nearly 450 artists, actors, and actresses.

The event aims to strengthen tourism promotion activities for the destination that has been honoured as the "World's Leading Regional Natural Destination" by the World Tourism Awards (WTA).

Within the framework of the event, Son La Province organised a tourism promotion conference themed “Orientation for developing the Moc Chau National Tourist Area in a green and sustainable manner.”

In addition, a wide variety of other tourism promotion activities have been held such as displaying a cultural space introducing tourism products, products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme, a culinary fair, experience activities in the Moc Chau National Tourist Area, a fruit picking festival at Na Ka Plum Valley, paragliding, and the VTV Cup 2024 Mountain Bike Race.

On the occasion, the chairman of the Son La Provincial People’s Committee awarded certificates of merit to the Standing Party Committees of Moc Chau District and Van Ho District for their achievements in building and developing the Moc Chau National Tourist Area.
