At the event, the delegates were briefed on the border post’s efforts in protecting border sovereignty and security, performing border guard duties in recent years, and its plans to ensure combat readiness during the Lunar New Year.

Speaking at the event, NA Vice Chairman Vu Hong Thanh extended Tet greetings to all officers and soldiers of Ia O Border Post. He acknowledged their achievements in recent years, particularly in ensuring security and order, and maintaining national border sovereignty and security.

He emphasised that 2026 is the first year of implementing the 14th Party Congress’s Resolution, which features many new guidelines and policies on economic development linked to sustainable social development. Therefore, he requested that, alongside the task of protecting sovereignty, the unit needs to continue paying attention to border guard diplomacy, closely grasp the local situation, and consolidate people-based defence and security.

He also stressed the tasks of strictly maintaining the combat readiness duty regime, ensuring that the public can enjoy the Spring season and celebrate Tet safely.
