Promoting Australia–Viet Nam business cooperation in digital transformation for education

In Ha Noi on October 24, the Australia–Viet Nam Cooperation Workshop on Promoting Digital Transformation in Education attracted a large number of domestic and international delegates. The event was part of a three-day visit to Viet Nam (October 22–24) organised by the Australian Government’s Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).

This workshop was also one of the events organised under the Australian Government’s Landing Pad initiative, aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation between Australia and Viet Nam in technology and digital transformation.

With the participation of 16 Australian EdTech enterprises, along with representatives from state and territory governments of Australia, the event marked the largest-ever delegation of Australian EdTech companies to visit and work in the Vietnamese market, reflecting the increasingly deep cooperation between Australia and Viet Nam.

Following a successful opening day in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring a specialised seminar on digital transformation in education with the participation of education management agencies, universities, and schools, the business delegation travelled to Ha Noi for a higher education-focused workshop held at BKHUP (Innovation Space of Ha Noi University of Science and Technology), co-organised with the Viet Nam Network for Innovative Start-up and Entrepreneurship in Higher Education (VNEI).

Within the framework of the Ha Noi workshop, delegates from both sides focused on discussing suitable cooperation models to enhance the quality of teaching and learning at the school level through the application of technology and Australia’s advanced solutions.

On this occasion, Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam Gillian Bird, who has consistently emphasised that education has long been one of the most important pillars of cooperation between the two countries, also attended and delivered a speech at the workshop.

According to the Ambassador, as Viet Nam continues to implement major educational reforms to accelerate digital transformation and position itself as a leading destination for innovative education technology collaboration, this event provided Viet Nam’s digital education ecosystem with valuable insights into Australia’s EdTech capabilities — particularly in three key areas: learning management systems (LMS), tools for lesson design and student assessment, and English, STEM, and life-skills education programmes.
