The competition encourages high school students to study and apply STEM knowledge, to solve the problems of society in their localities.
Held for the first time in 2019, the competition has become an annual creative thinking playground for high school students aged 12-18, having attracted the participation of about 165,000 students and teachers.
This year, Samsung has held a roadshow to launch the ‘Solve for Tomorrow 2023’ in all three regions: the North, the Central and the South.
Deputy General Director of External Relations & Communications at the Samsung Complex in Vietnam Kim Yong Sup said: “Solutions to the dilemmas people are facing such as sustainable development, safe society, respect for diversity, etc, may lie in the creative thinking of the young generation. Through the Solve for Tomorrow competition, Samsung is actively supporting the creative thinking of Vietnamese youth to develop into creative problem-solving competence.”
This year’s Solve for Tomorrow will be implemented in seven months, from April 12 to November 11, 2023, and divided into two groups: Group A for junior secondary school students, and Group B for senior secondary school students, with three rounds of competition. Students will apply STEM knowledge and design thinking to find and realise creative solutions to social problems.
The top 40 teams will be guided by a group of senior professional advisors and experts from Samsung, and have the opportunity to cultivate their soft skills through a special workshop within the framework of the programme.
