Exhibits include paintings, graphic works, sculptures and installations in various materials such as oil paint, lacquer, silk, wood carving, water-colour and stone.
The works were made by 136 artists from nine provinces: Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Ninh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Lam Dong.
The organising board presented one A, one B and one C prize, along with four consolation prizes to outstanding works at the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The A prize went to K Minh Tuan from Lam Dong and the B prize was awarded to Huynh Huong from Binh Thuan. Meanwhile the C prize went to Pham Cong Hoang from Dong Nai.
Works feature Vietnam’s landscapes and people in their daily lives as well as the country’s seas and islands.
The organising board also selected 13 other works to participate in the 2016 National Committee of Union of Vietnam Literature and Arts Associations’ award.
