All ticket sales will go to those affected by Typhoon Yagi and subsequent floods, said Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh at a press briefing to announce the concert on September 11.

He added that the organisers wanted to use music to promote solidarity and love in the community.

BOND’s performance in Hanoi is the second event in “Good Morning Vietnam” – a series of international music initiated by Nhan Dan – following the success of saxophonist Kenny G’s show in 2023.

BOND performed in Vietnam in 2015 and 2016 but this is the first time the group will perform for Vietnamese audiences in a meaningful event to raise funds for charity and promote Vietnamese tourism.

According to Minh, BOND’s Vietnam concert affirms Nhan Dan’s commitment to continue bringing world-class music to domestic music lovers.

BOND, consisting of violinists Tania Davis and Eos, violist Elspeth Hanson and cellist Gay-Yee Westerhoff, is known globally for their combination of classical and modern music.

The group has been active since 2000 and sold over five million albums, making it the most successful string quartet in the history of world music.
