The forum was held by the Technology Application and Development under the Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
At the forum, new technology and energy trends were introduced and discussed by experts. The event featured the participation of 250 people, including representatives from central and local ministries and agencies, Vietnamese and international organisations, corporations and business associations in the energy sector.
Participating in the forum, the organisations and individuals had a chance to learn about new and modern technology trends in the country and around the world, and exchange with representatives of ministries, departments and agencies in Vietnam, as well as better understand Vietnam's support policies in research and application of energy technology.
Under the chair of leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the forum discussed Vietnam's policies and programmes, to support and promote the economical and efficient use of energy in the new period, contributing to firmly securing energy security during the 2019-2030 period.
In addition, the forum provided information on new technology development trends in many countries, recommendations on research, transfer and mastery of technologies, as Vietnam receives technology for the global energy transition, contributing to meeting commitments at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26).

The forum was divided into two sessions, including the first new technology trends and solutions, to contribute to ensuring energy security and sustainable development in the new context.
Meanwhile, the second session is a discussion and exchange on solutions and support policies of Vietnam, in research and application of energy technology.
The Techconnect and Innovation Vietnam 2023, themed “Creative Innovation – Sustainable Development”, is taking place in Quang Ninh Province from September 29-30.
The event aims to raise public awareness of creative innovation and sustainable economic development, towards attracting resources for innovation in Vietnam; promote innovation through the development of technology supply and demand; develop technology markets and innovation at regional, national and international scales; form a network connecting technology and innovation; and connect businesses with domestic and international markets and partners.
