The visitors, mainly from the UK, France, the US, and Canada, are the first tourists to visit the central province by sea in 2024.
More than 1,400 tourists attended tours to visit tourism sites in Thua Thien – Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam.
Chan May Port received 25 cruise ships with around 50,000 visitors and crew members in 2023. About 32 cruise ships, with nearly 60,000 tourists and 22,000 crew members, have registered to dock at Chan May Port in 2024.
Last year, the province welcomed 3.2 million visitors, up 56% compared to 2022, including 1.2 million foreign visitors, a sharp increase of 361% compared to 2022. The province posted total revenue of 6.6 trillion VND (270.94 million USD) from tourism activities in 2023.
In 2023, Thua Thien – Hue Province saw the largest number of visitors from Taiwan (China), Thailand, the US, Malaysia, France, the UK, Australia, Germany, Spain, and the Republic of Korea.
