Raising awareness and responsibility during the major event
These days, the soldiers and people of the Truong Sa Special Zone, along with those of other localities across the country, are determined to carry out production activities and safeguard the sacred sovereignty of the country’s seas and islands, contributing to the success of the 14th National Party Congress.
Party flags, national flags, banners, and slogans are displayed at many important locations, major roads and working places on the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago.
Alongside this, communication work is accelerated to regularly provided information related to the Party Congress to the people and soldiers.
Speaking with Nhan Dan Newspaper, Lieutenant Le Hong Thai from Sinh Ton Island said: “During this time, we are regularly updated by our commanders on the 14th National Party Congress, and the country’s current affairs. As a soldier stationed in Truong Sa, I am aware that the task of combat readiness and protecting the 14th National Party Congress is both a source of pride and a great responsibility for each soldier.”
He informed that his unit has intensified patrols and guard duties, raising awareness and responsibility in carrying out tasks, especially in organising management of the assigned airspace and seas. Alongside this, they have hold communication activities to ensure soldiers firmly grasp safety regulations and combat readiness during the protection of the Party Congress. Emulation movements have also been launched to enhance the unit’s solidarity and combat strength.
Le Thi Kim Thi, a resident on Sinh Ton Island, said the islanders regularly follow mainland news via TV, newspapers, and radio.
“Over the years, the islanders have always received care and support from the Party, the State, and mainlanders. We place trust the Party's leadership and believe in the success of the congress,” Thi shared.
Working in the forward outpost of the Fatherland, the naval soldiers remain steadfast in safeguarding the Fatherland's seas and skies, ensuring safety for the 14th National Party Congress.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Khuong, Political Officer of Song Tu Tay Island, emphasised that working in the forward outpost of the Fatherland, the naval soldiers remain steadfast in safeguarding the Fatherland's seas and skies, ensuring safety for the congress. “While performing duties on distant islands, we always follow congress information and trust in its great success,” he stated.
Duong Minh Nhat, a gunner on Sinh Ton Island, expressed: “We are aware that the National Party Congress is an important event for the country and the people”.
He reiterated that each officer and soldier further heightens effort and endeavour, striving to train in political resolve, combat skills, holding our guns firmly to protect the Fatherland's frontiers, contributing to the Congress's success and concretising the goals set by the Congress: developing the country so that the people live in peace, prosperity, and happiness.
“I feel a responsibility to contribute to realising that noble goal,” he said.
Great expectations for the era of national rise
Joining the nationwide joyous atmosphere, the soldiers and people of Truong Sa also express their trust and hope that the successful congress will lead the country to further development in the nation's era of surging forward.
Le Thi Minh Dieu, a resident on Truong Sa Island, noted with pleasure that over the years, the socio-economic situation on the island has developed, residents' lives have continuously improved, and national defence and security have been ensured.
“I believe that the 14th National Party Congress will outline important breakthrough policies and decisions to further develop the socio-economy situation, making Viet Nam increasingly powerful and prosperous, while the people enjoy ever greater well-being and happiness,” she stated.
She added that citizens living on the Fatherland's forward islands pledge that under any conditions, no matter how difficult, will always unite closely with the island's officers and soldiers and remain steadfast in faith, with the determintion to safeguard every inch of sacred island and sea of the Fatherland.

Le Thi Kim Thi, a resident on Sinh Ton Island, conveyed her hope that islanders, especially women will receive further support, and greater attention will be paid to education and nutrition for children on the island.
Lieutenant Le Hong Thai also expressed his hope that the army and people of the Truong Sa Special Zone will continue to receive timely and heartfelt care, support and encouragement from the mainland.
“With our duties, we pledge to ceaselessly strive, ready to fight and sacrifice for the noble, sacred mission of safeguarding the Fatherland's peace,” Lieutenant Thai affirmed resolutely.
