The clean industrial factory, which required investment of over US$300 million, represents the largest injection of FDI to date in Quang Ninh province.
The construction of the plant comprises three phases, positioned on approximately 40 hectares of land. The second and the third phase are scheduled for completion in 2015 and 2017, respectively.
Total capacity will reach 140,000 tonnes per year upon completion, with 92,000 tonnes per year produced by the first and second phase facilities and 46,000 tonnes per year by the third phase.
Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Doc stated that the factory was the first FDI project licensed in Quang Ninh after the investment promotion conference held by the province in early 2012.
The project is expected to serve as a catalyst for economic growth in Quang Ninh province, moving it still further toward industrialisation and modernisation, he added.
