At the event, Consul General Wiraka Moodhitaporn said that the initiative, conducted under the "Good Deeds from the Heart" volunteer programme, which stems from the noble aspiration of the Thai King, who maintains deep concern for the happiness and welfare of all people.
The blood donation campaign supported the VRCS’s blood bank while serving as a concrete expression of gratitude towards Viet Nam that has warmly welcomed the Thai community residing and working within its borders, she stated.
Deputy head of the organising board of the Red Journey Programme Nguyen Tuan Khoi, for his part, underscored voluntary blood donation as an act of compassion and community sharing.
The event not only contributed to supplementing blood supplies for emergency care and treatment but also helped strengthen the Viet Nam-Thailand friendship, he stated.
Over the years, the Red Journey Programme, the VRCS, and the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Viet Nam have partnered with the Thai Consulate General to organise regular blood donation events every July and December.
