Travel+Leisure's list of countries with the cheapest retirement costs in the world also includes Mexico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Portugal, Panama, Montenegro and Colombia.
In Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Sai Gon, home to the country’s largest expat community, the cost of living stands at 70% lower compared to New York, with housing roughly 87% lower, it wrote.
In addition, many large cities in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City are considered attractive tourist destinations, with convenient transportation, affordable prices, and many experiences.
According to Kiplinger's rankings, Vietnam ranks second among the 10 cheapest countries to visit with affordable prices and low daily costs for accommodation and food, making this country a desirable destination for tourists with limited budgets.
