The preliminary and semi-final rounds will be held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Bac Lieu province in the southern region from November 1 to November 15 and the grand final will be held from November 26 to December 6 at Vinpearl Resort Phu Quoc.

A new rule of 2014 Miss Vietnam is that only unmarried contestants qualify to register as candidates to compete in the most prestigious pageant in Vietnam.

Initiated in 1988 by Tien Phong newspaper, Miss Vietnam is held biennially and attracts great public attention.

The competition aims to honour the spiritual and intellectual beauty of talented Vietnamese women, as well as promote the image of Vietnam and Vietnamese people. Additionally, the contest is a good opportunity to discover new faces who showcase Vietnamese beauty and individuals who can compete in international pageants.

This year’s crowning ceremony will be broadcast live by Vietnam Television.

Miss Vietnam 2014 winner will be crowned and presented with VND300 million, while first and second runners-up will receive VND150 million and VND100 million, respectively.

Beside sub-awards such as Miss Talent, Miss Talent, Miss Beach, Miss Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress), Miss Beautiful Face and Most Voted Miss, the contest will also honour Miss Beautiful Hair and Miss Party Dress.

Winners of Miss Vietnam Pageant in previous years gathered at a press conference in Hanoi on June 4.
