On August 8, the search and recovery force from the Ho Chi Minh City Command continued to expand its search in Zone B of Le Thi Rieng Park, accessing areas suspected of housing the remains of fallen soldiers.
During the day, the force recovered an additional 18 sets of martyrs’ remains, comprising 16 individual sets and two sets of commingled remains.
To maintain the operation’s pace, the Ho Chi Minh City Command mobilised equipment to excavate and transport large quantities of soil.
Between June 23 and August 8, the authorities recovered a total of 245 sets of martyrs’ remains at Le Thi Rieng Park.
Also on August 8, a delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, led by Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang, paid tribute to the late General Secretary Tran Phu and the fallen heroes and martyrs.
The delegation also visited and offered encouragement to the personnel executing the search and recovery operation at Le Thi Rieng Park.
Deputy Minister Thang inquired about the progress of the work and received a briefing on the search results, expressing her appreciation for the sense of responsibility and efforts of the officers, soldiers, and other forces directly involved in the operation.
She expressed her hope that the forces would continue to overcome difficulties and execute their duties with dedication and meticulous care, facilitating the return of the fallen soldiers to their hometowns and families as soon as possible.
