The event brought together more than 300 reporters and editors from media agencies across the country.
The course is part of the association’s celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925–2025) and aims to promote the integration of new technologies into journalistic practices.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication, Education, and Mass Mobilisation, and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper - highlighted the need for media outlets and journalists to proactively embrace artificial intelligence in modern journalism.
Minh, who also serves as Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalists Association, emphasised that systematic and professional training programs are crucial for effective AI adoption.
He urged journalists to stay ahead of technological trends, noting that waiting until the last minute to adapt would be a disadvantage.
"Journalists must take the lead in experimenting with new technologies. Only then can we effectively serve readers and audiences," Minh stated.
He expressed his hope that the training course would foster a community where journalists can exchange insights and share expertise in modern journalism, ultimately benefiting more reporters and editors.
The two-day course features discussions led by experts on a range of AI-related topics, including an overview of AI and generative models, basic and advanced command writing for journalists, AI applications in international newsrooms, data visualisation using AI, multimedia content processing, fact-checking techniques.
