In order to ensure the supply of agricultural goods in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to review and forecast statistics on the production area until the harvest time in 2021.

In addition, the Hanoi Municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has closely coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the provinces, especially the 21 northern provinces in the Coordination Committee of the supply chain of safe vegetables, meat and agricultural products for Hanoi, to connect the consumption of essential agricultural products to serve the capital's consumers. At the same time, the department directed specialised branches to strengthen the inspection and control of food quality and safety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products produced and consumed in the locality.

Regarding consumption, Acting Director-General of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan said that the current situation of circulation and consumption of agricultural products in the city is still stable.

However, in the case of a more complicated epidemic, including cases in which neighbouring provinces have an epidemic leading to stricter control of goods circulation, it is necessary to have immediate consensus in the coordination of implementation of measures to create the most favourable conditions for transportation, avoiding any disruption to the supply chain. In addition, in the area of Hanoi City, the department is also planning mobile sales points to serve the blockade areas.

Currently, the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has strengthened cooperation and connected agricultural products from provinces and cities, focusing on coordinating 21 northern provinces and cities, building 786 supply chains of safe food products to Hanoi City.

In addition, the department also maintained 113 cold storage areas of agricultural, forestry and fishery production and trading enterprises. These warehouses are to help businesses producing and trading agricultural, forestry and fishery products store and ensure the distribution and circulation of goods.

At the same time, the municipal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is coordinating with the municipal Department of Industry and Trade to monitor and organise temporary cargo gathering and transhipment locations, deploying to manufacturing enterprises and modern distribution systems to ensure the source of goods in the epidemic situation.
