In the context of COVID-19, e-Commerce is being used as a convenient way for businesses to resume operations and expand their distribution channels while helping consumers gradually change their shopping habits.

Therefore, ASEAN Online Day is designed to provide an opportunity for enterprises across ASEAN to promote their products and increase their sales via e-commerce in the region.

Taking place from August 8 to 10 at http://onlineasean.com, this year’s event will be co-hosted by Brunei, Singapore and Vietnam.

It will include two tiers for domestic transactions, in which reputable e-commerce businesses and platforms in 10 ASEAN countries will launch a series of special discount shopping programmes for consumers in that country; and cross-border transactions, in which enterprises and platforms will coordinate to implement a cross-border online shopping programme among ASEAN countries.

According to the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency under Ministry of Industry and Trade, consumers from Vietnam and other ASEAN countries can visit http://onlineasean.com/ to order goods from e-commerce platforms with exclusive offers for this event.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese businesses can fill in the registration form to attend the event at https://forms.gle/y97Jn2ajjgw3wUfF7.

Vietnam, as the Chair of ASEAN 2020, proposed the ASEAN Online Sale Day, which will be the first online shopping event conducted collectively on a region-wide basis, to be held on August 8 annually. It aims to facilitate ASEAN member states in promoting cross – border trade through e-commerce while creating a safe and practical online environment for shoppers in the region.

The 2020 event saw the participation of more than 200 businesses from across ASEAN.
