Conference reviews activities of Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region

A conference took place in Nghe An on January 13 to review the activities of the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region in 2023 and develop a plan for 2024.

This is the Council's third conference and it’s first in 2024.

The conference was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region.

The conference was attended by Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region; Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vice Chairman of the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region; representatives of leaders of ministries, central branches and localities in the region; as well as experts and scientists.

In 2023, the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region has completed eight key tasks.

Last year, the whole region attracted 183 new projects, with total registered capital of more than 2.13 billion USD. Furthermore, the coordination and cooperation in developing the transport infrastructure system has achieved high results with many key and nationally important transport infrastructure projects.

At the conference, delegates made additional statements, clarifying the results of the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region's activities. At the same time, many solutions and policies to promote potential and strengthen regional connectivity were also proposed.

Speaking at the conference, emphasising the tasks of the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region in the coming time, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to develop criteria and assign specific tasks to the localities and sub-regions.

The Deputy Prime Minister also assigned five localities that have specific mechanisms and policies to conduct preliminary and final reviews of the suggestions and specific policies for the entire region.

In the coming time, in addition to regular sessions, the Coordinating Council for the North-Central and Central Coastal Region may hold specialized meetings in each field and content.
