In his opening speech, Mayor of Busan Suh Byung Soo affirmed that relations between the two cities have continued to develop and move from strength to strength.

The event is expected to tighten ties between the two sides and enhance cultural exchanges between the people, he said, adding that Busan’s leaders will do their utmost to further the relationship.

According to Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan, the two cities have co-operated closely in organising practical activities to foster links in investment, trade, education-training and science-technology.

He said he hopes that the event will bring the two cities’ people closer as well as enhance the overall friendship between Vietnam and the RoK.

The event offered local residents and visitors a chance to enjoy traditional RoK dishes, music and folk games as well as to visit an exhibition displaying diverse images of the city of Busan, which was held throughout the day.
