The event saw the participation of nine localities in the province, including Tien Yen, Ba Che, Binh Lieu, Dam Ha, Hai Ha, Van Don, and Co To Districts, in addition to Mong Cai City and Ha Long City. Three localities of Lang Son Province, namely Lang Son City, Dinh Lap District, and Cao Loc District also attended the event.
A special art programme entitled “Tien Yen - A place to connect colours of the ethnic groups in the Northeast” opened Culture and Sports Week. It featured 14 performances of traditional singing and dancing of the Kinh, Tay, Dao, San Diu, and San Chi ethnic groups, delivering a message of a land rich in indigenous cultural identity.
The week-long event will include a series of cultural, sports and tourism activities such as the Tien Yen chicken culinary competition, street food festival, street art festival, OCOP fair, cultural festival of Quang Ninh ethnic groups, sports competition of Quang Ninh ethnic groups, traditional boat race, and others.
The programme is expected to promote the image of a land with diverse cultural identity, wonderful landscapes, and unique cuisine, which is a must-visit for tourists.
Culture and Sports Week is also among the activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Quang Ninh Province and the 75th anniversary of the first Party cell of Tien Yen District.
