This is a great honour for the school’s teachers and students because the new college is named after the martyr and Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, Dr. Dang Thuy Tram who worked as a battlefield doctor in Quang Ngai province during the most violent time of the anti-US war.
The college will be built on 7.4 hectares with a total investment of VND100 billion (US$4.7 million).
It aims to train 1,500 to 2,000 students by 2015 and 2,400 students between 2016 and 2020 to meet the increasing demand for human resources in the province’s public health care sector.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga said that the college should learn from the experiences of other domestic and foreign colleges and universities in order to develop a modern training programme that matches the requirements for higher quality labour during the country’s process of international integration.
