Speaking at the event, Tan Minh Long, President of the Dien Bien Labour Union, affirmed that the “Tet Reunion” programme is an annual activity aimed at ensuring that all union members and workers can enjoy Tet, leaving no one behind.
At the programme, the Dien Bien Labour Union presented 100 gift packages, provided travel-fare support for union members, and distributed 1,149 online shopping vouchers under the 2026 Trade Union Tet Market programme organised by the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour.
The programme also featured a range of activities, such as competitions in wrapping banh chung and arranging fruit trays, which helped create a joyful and warm atmosphere, spread the spirit of solidarity, and contribute to preserving traditional national culture ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Long said that in the lead-up to Tet, the Dien Bien Labour Union had directed trade unions at all levels to implement Tet support activities for union members and workers in a practical and effective manner, targeting the right beneficiaries.
Priority was given to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, those suffering from occupational accidents or serious illnesses, and workers working far from home who are unable to return to their hometowns for Tet.
According to a preliminary report, trade unions at all levels in Dien Bien provided Tet support to more than 3,000 union members and workers during the Tet holiday, with total funding of nearly 10 billion VND (384,000 USD).
