She made the remarks at the ‘Higher Education Leader Summit in the context of open innovation’ held by the MPI’s National Innovation Centre (NIC) and the Vietnam Network of Higher Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (VNEI) on October 31.
The event was sponsored by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in coordination with NIC.
“The summit aims to create a policy dialogue mechanism and share experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship while proposing specific solutions to second high-quality human resources in the context of the fourth industrial revolution,” Ngoc said.
She noted that Vietnam is actively fostering the development of an innovation and start-up ecosystem, with the aim to become a dynamic ecosystem in the region.
“In that context, universities and innovation and startup centres play a particularly crucial role in contributing to the development of Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem with a focus on promoting human resources, commercialising research results, boosting entrepreneurship, and connecting businesses with universities,” the Deputy Minister added.
With two discussion sessions and a dialogue session, the VNEI made joint statements and consensus on cooperation directions to build a startup and innovation ecosystem in higher education institutions.
