Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung is expected to deliver a keynote address online. The forum is jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria, the National Innovation Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO).
The event will provide a platform for dialogue and experience sharing in the fields of high technology, innovation, and digital transformation — areas seen as essential for Viet Nam’s goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045.
Leading corporations from both Austria and Viet Nam will participate in the forum, representing key sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare technology, semiconductors, and cybersecurity. Notable participants include UNIDO, TTTech, Infineon Technologies Austria, Siconnex, Dynatrace, FPT, VNPT, Sovico, and Genetica.
The event will facilitate networking and discussions on potential cooperation in frontier technologies such as AI, semiconductors, biotechnology, quantum technology, internet of things (IoT), edge computing, and robotics.
Ahead of the forum, Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Vu Le Thai Hoang noted that, in line with Resolution 57 and the government’s action programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnam’s overseas missions are actively embracing science-technology and innovation diplomacy as a core component of a modern, comprehensive foreign policy. Each diplomatic post is encouraged to develop context-specific initiatives and approaches to foster international cooperation.
“This forum has received strong support from co-organisers such as the WKO and the NIC, along with relevant agencies, major tech companies, universities and research institutes from both countries. It will serve as the first event of its kind held in Europe to promote information exchange, policy updates, and mutual understanding of the science, technology and innovation ecosystems in Viet Nam and Austria. It will also provide a promotional and networking platform for Vietnamese and Austrian technology enterprises, paving the way for concrete agreements and cooperation,” Ambassador Hoang said.

As a co-organising partner, Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Centre, stated that the forum is part of Viet Nam’s broader strategy to foster international collaboration in innovation.
“It aims to support Vietnamese enterprises in accessing cutting-edge technologies, expanding markets, and attracting high-quality investment. NIC seeks to build a bridge between the innovation ecosystems of both countries, advancing core technology development, knowledge transfer, and enhancing the global competitiveness of Vietnamese firms in the context of digital transformation.”
Viet Nam is positioning itself as a regional innovation hub, actively promoting the development and application of pioneering technologies such as AI, semiconductors, and IoT to support green and digital transformation. “There is significant potential for Viet Nam-Austria cooperation in these fields, especially in technology transfer and human resource development, to create added value for both economies,” Hoai added.
The Austria - Viet Nam High-Tech and Innovation Forum 2025 marks a pivotal step in strengthening comprehensive bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation. More than just a bilateral platform, it offers a strategic dialogue channel with Europe’s leading tech and innovation players, helping diversify Viet Nam’s trade and investment ties while deepening cooperation in science, technology, and digital transformation.
Through future-oriented networking activities, the forum aims to enable businesses from both sides to effectively explore opportunities in technology transfer, high-quality workforce development, and global value chain integration—especially in semiconductors and strategic technologies.
It also highlights Viet Nam’s emergence as a strategic destination for leading Austrian and European technology firms, reinforcing its role as a key node in the global innovation map.
Austria is widely recognised as a global leader in core technologies, innovation, and R&D. The country has achieved notable success in semiconductors, AI, and electronics, especially in advanced chip technologies, smart devices, and high-performance sensors, laying a strong foundation for Industry 4.0.
