Gifts presented to needy people ahead of Tet 2023

General Luong Cuong, Politburo member, member of the Central Military Commission’s Standing Committee and Chairman of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army presented Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor households, public employees , disadvantaged people and workers in southern province of Tra Vinh on January 10.

General Luong Cuong proposed that the Party committees and authorities of Tra Vinh Province should continue building a strong national defence posture; attachingimportance to socio-economic development in association with effective implementation of social security work; and taking care of needy households living in difficult circumstances in the province.

Also on the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association held a ceremony in Cu Chi District to presentgifts to needy farmers and orphans due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

According to the plan, during this Lunar New Year, the City Farmers' Union will give 1,854 Tet gifts worth nearly 1.4 billion VND to staff members and farmers living in difficult circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City as well aschildren orphaned as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic and disadvantaged children.

Also on January 10, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the central city of Da Nang organised a programme to present over 16,000 Tet gifts worth over 8.6 billion VND to needy people in the city.
