The event was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc, with congratulatory flowers sent by Party General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Reporting at the ceremony, Department Director Tran The Cuong highlighted the sector’s significant progress alongside the capital’s socio-economic development. Ha Noi currently has more than 2.3 million students, 140,000 teachers, and nearly 3,000 schools, with over 80% of public institutions meeting national standards. The city ranks among the top nationwide for upper-secondary graduation rates and continues to lead in national and international academic competitions.

In 2025 alone, Ha Noi students achieved 200 national awards, 18 international prizes, including medals in the International Chemistry and Biology Olympiads and the World Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics, as well as victory in the national “Road to Mount Olympia” competition. The capital will host the 2026 World Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics.

At the ceremony, 32 collectives and 75 individuals were honoured with Labour Orders and Government commendations for outstanding contributions to education.

In his address, Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasised that investing in education is investing in Ha Noi’s sustainable future. He reaffirmed the city’s determination to make education and training a breakthrough sector under Resolution No. 71 of the Politburo, noting that the Party Committee will soon issue an action plan to implement the resolution and improve teacher welfare and working conditions.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son called on the capital to strengthen its pioneering role, saying that Ha Noi’s education, with its excellence in quality, digital transformation and modern governance, must become the country’s leading centre for innovation, experience-sharing and educational development.
