Paying tribute to President Ho Chi Minh has long remained an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Vietnamese artists.

On the occasion of the 136th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890–May 19, 2026), under the direction of the Ha Noi Municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the city’s art troupes and theatres will organise a series of special performances for local residents in communes and wards across the capital from May 17–19.

Specifically, on the evening of May 17, the Ha Noi Drama Theatre will perform in Hoa Phu Commune, while the Ha Noi Circus and Variety Arts Theatre will stage a performance in Yen Bai Commune.

On the evening of May 19, the Ha Noi Cheo (traditional opera) Theatre, the Ha Noi Cai Luong (reformed theatre) Theatre, the Thang Long Puppet Theatre, and the Thang Long Music and Dance Theatre will give interesting performances in Duong Hoa Commune, Phu Dien Ward, Vinh Thanh Commune, and Duong Noi Ward, respectively.

The programmes praise the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the country, and the Vietnamese people, as well as President Ho Chi Minh — the genius leader of the Party and the people, a national liberation hero, and a world cultural figure — while honouring his glorious life and revolutionary career.

The performances will also vividly portray Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle, particularly his shining example of patriotism, compassion for the people, self-sacrifice, simplicity, and wholehearted devotion to the Fatherland and the people. They are intended to express the profound respect and gratitude of officials, Party members, and people from all walks of life towards President Ho Chi Minh, while contributing to the education of revolutionary traditions and the nurturing of ideals, morality, and lifestyle among younger generations.

The activities also aim to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the people, create a joyful and uplifting atmosphere, strengthen the great national unity bloc, and further spread the values of Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and lifestyle throughout society.
