NA Standing Vice Chairman asks to facilitate Can Tho tech incubator

Politburo member and NA Standing Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man held a working session with the Board of Directors of the Vietnam-Korea Technology Incubator in the southern city of Can Tho on November 23.

Speaking at the meeting, the NA Standing Vice Chairman acknowledged the efforts of the incubator during its operation. This new model is suitable for the development of science and technology not only for Can Tho City but also for the whole Mekong Delta region.

NA Standing Vice Chairman Man noted that Can Tho City needs to continue to pay attention to supporting the operation of the incubator and should invest in facilities and infrastructure for incubation. Issues under the central authority need to continue to advise and propose to the competent authorities to find solutions.

The incubator also need to actively attract and invite businesses from the Republic of Korea to incubate and invest in Can Tho, as well as strengthen relations with provinces in the region to exploit and nurture strengths in agriculture, fisheries, machinery and equipment for agricultural production, support the development of OCOP products associated with market expansion, he noted.

The Vietnam-Korea Technology Incubator was inaugurated in 2015. This is the result of a comprehensive cooperation programme between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of the RoK with the aim to incubate and develop technology as well as support the research and development of industries with competitive advantages of Can Tho City.

To date, the incubator has supported 11 businesses to participate in incubation; implemented 2 city-level science and technology tasks, and helped production and business establishments perfect products as well as technological processes.
