This information was announced at a conference in Nam Dinh province on March 27 to review the implementation of the national programme for building new rural areas.

Most communes that joined the programme have achieved its targeted criteria. Rural living standards have been improved and security, national defence and the grassroots level political system are now consolidated.

Praising the province’s achievement in becoming one of ten leading localities in building new rural areas, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat proposed that it should promote the achieved criteria sustainably, focusing on production and living standards. He also said the province should review and implement agricultural mechanisation models and large sample fields, and develop brand names for several of Nam Dinh’s prominent products to improve the efficiency of agricultural production.
