Organised jointly by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance, this year’s event carried the theme “Innovation for All – Driving National Development.” The annual event embodies the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

In 2024, the Prime Minister officially designated October 1 as Viet Nam National Innovation Day. The 2025 event reaffirmed the determination of the Party and the Government to place innovation at the heart of socio-economic development, enhancing productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.

The event also honoured breakthrough ideas and promoted the growth of a comprehensive innovation ecosystem.

This year’s highlights included the official ceremony on October 1, attended by General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, senior leaders, local authorities, businesses, research institutes, universities, investment funds, international organisations, and the media—gathering more than 800 delegates. The ceremony also announced the 2025 Provincial Innovation Index (PII 2025) and launched a series of initiatives from enterprises and global partners.

The Ministry of Science and Technology hosted the Innovation Policy Forum under the theme “Innovation: Policy Design and Effective Implementation for Double-Digit Economic Growth.”

At the same time, the event provided an open dialogue space where policymakers, organisations, experts, businesses, and investors from Viet Nam and abroad could exchange strategic visions, share experiences, and discuss practical solutions to foster innovation.

One of the highlights was the Viet Nam International Innovation Exhibition 2025, which brought together hundreds of technology companies, research institutes, and startups from both domestic and international ecosystems. The exhibition attracted more than 40,000 visitors, showcasing new products and technologies across 11 priority sectors identified under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1131/QD-TTg (June 12, 2025).

Discussions centred on key fields including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, cybersecurity, and aerospace—providing knowledge exchange while enabling Vietnamese enterprises to connect directly with advanced global technology networks, opening opportunities for research collaboration, technology transfer, and commercialisation.

In parallel, specialised workshops addressed the development of high-quality human resources and STEM education. Side activities included the kick-off of the 2026 National VEX Robotics Championship, recognition of Vietnamese participants in international STEM competitions, electric vehicle and STEM experiences for students, and the Better Choice Awards honouring outstanding innovation products.

Beyond exhibitions and discussions, the event also offers engaging activities with gifts and interactive experiences for attendees.
