The Ngoc Linh Ginseng and International Medicinal Herbs Festival Da Nang 2026 officially opened at APEC Park in Da Nang on August 1, kicking off a series of large-scale cultural, scientific, investment, trade, and tourism activities aimed at honouring the value of Ngoc Linh ginseng — a Vietnamese national treasure.
The festival also seeks to promote the development of the medicinal herbs industry into one of the country's high-value bioeconomy sectors, contributing to the building of the national brand and enhancing Viet Nam's position on the global medicinal herbs map.
Held for the first time on a national scale with an international orientation, the Ngoc Linh Ginseng and International Medicinal Herbs Festival Da Nang 2026 is more than a product promotion or trade promotion event. It has been designed as a multi-sector ecosystem connecting state management agencies, scientists, businesses, investors, international organisations, and communities to foster the comprehensive development of Viet Nam's medicinal herbs industry.
The festival programme runs in Da Nang and the Ngoc Linh ginseng growing areas from July 31 to August 3, featuring numerous thematic activities centred on five key objectives: preserving and promoting the value of precious genetic resources and indigenous knowledge; advancing scientific research, innovation, and technology transfer; developing a value chain from cultivation areas to deep processing and commercialisation; promoting health and wellness tourism products associated with medicinal herbs; and expanding international cooperation to gradually establish Ngoc Linh ginseng as a globally competitive brand.
Throughout the festival, residents and visitors can explore and experience the value of Ngoc Linh ginseng at the Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Exhibition Space in APEC Park, where more than 80 booths from localities, domestic enterprises, and international exhibitors showcase ginseng, medicinal herbs, food products, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and processing technologies.
Visitors can also explore a simulated Ngoc Linh ginseng forest ecosystem, offering an immersive experience of the cultivation areas, the plant's development process and its ecological value.
Through the festival's activities, Da Nang expects to gradually build a modern and sustainable ecosystem for the development of the medicinal herbs industry, strengthen linkages among the State, scientists, businesses, and investors, and establish a complete value chain spanning genetic resource conservation, cultivation area development, research, deep processing, commercialisation, and international market development.
